Pickerelweed
Pickerelweed is grown as an ornamental pond and wildlife plant, and its parts are edible in a minor way: the ripe seeds can be eaten raw or cooked like a nut or grain, and very young unfurling leaves can be cooked as a green. These are niche foods, not a crop, and should only be gathered with certain identification from clean, unpolluted water - never from water that may carry runoff or contaminants. It has no toxic parts and is safe to handle.
