Wiregrass
Wiregrass is a safe, non-toxic native bunchgrass, not a food crop. The only real caution is about fire, not the plant itself: wiregrass depends on periodic fire to flower and reproduce, and any prescribed burning must be done legally, safely, and by trained people with proper permits - never casual burning near homes or in dry conditions.
